Welcome to the official website of the Research Promotion and Facilitation Centre (RPFC),
Faculty of Medicine, Colombo.

The RPFC was established with funding from the World Bank via the HETC (higher education for twenty first century) grant in 2013.The main objective of the RPFC is to improve the research culture in the Faculty of medicine, University of Colombo, by

  • Establishing an administrative department/unit for research. 
  • Providing training in research.
  • Providing support and training for grant applicants for research and infrastructure development.
  • Providing mentoring for researchers.
  • Establishing a formal progress monitoring system aligned with counseling and a support system for researchers.
  • Training and supporting researcher to publish their research.
  • Training and supporting research entrepreneurship

Another goal of the RPFC is to become the central unit for research promotion for the higher education institutes in Sri Lanka by extending the services and training to these institutions.

AuthorAID  is offering a free online course in research writing starting from the 1 April 2016 to 12 May 2016. It will cover all aspects of writing research papers for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
